Imagine buying a PL football club like ours...
... Well I say buying.

I actually mean paying for half of it. So £42.5m on an £85m total value.

Split between two of you. So let's say £20m each.

For total control of West Ham.

Then imagine telling all the fans that you actually support the club and that you're locals and you'd do your best.

Then imagine a 'world class team for a world class stadium'.

Then imagine taking out 7% Interest on that minimal investment on a debt that is serviceable via PL money. Imagine getting that original investment of £20m back within 24 months despite employing a manager that relegates the club.

Then imagine owning a football club (or two) for 30 years. Imagine winning nothing. But profiting from the club and its fans personally.

Imagine doing something for 30 years and winning nothing. Not one single trophy.

Imagine employing Alex Mcleish, Sam Allardyce, Avram Grant and David Moyes.

Imagine having a blank canvas of a beautiful football club like West Ham for an entire decade.

Then imagine blaming every single failure, lopsided squad and early cup exit on every single manager that you actually employ yourselves. Imagine never once accepting responsibility

Imagine after an entire decade of promises, after 10 point pledges to the fans, after 'we'll be in the Champions League in 7 years plans'.

Imagine after all of that.. .

That you could still get away with things like having purchased just one single goalkeeper for a transfer fee in ten years. Every other goalkeeper in an entire decade has been signed on a free transfer.

By this point you are laughing at the morons still supporting you for 'saving the club'. You then imagine how much you could further save by not investing in trivial things such as fullbacks.

£11m has been spent on fullbacks in a decade. Both our current right backs were free transfers.

Imagine after all of this you still have the passive but lucrative support of the fanbase that you clearly so detest.

If you can get away with inheriting the below listed squad on the day you bought the club, having a whole decade in charge and then leaving us with what we've got now... And then having no riots about it... then you really have won. You've sanitsed us. Divided us and conquered us. Well done. Enjoy your money.

Look at the squad they inherited. A squad plying their trade at Upton Park. It's better than our current squad. It's better balanced. Our fans should be ashamed of themselves for letting this happen.

Yeah, cracking squad that one.

If only we still had McCarthy and Kovac eh? They'd sort things out

You, you may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you will join us
And the world will be as one

straw, what do you think could have been done to stop them? when you have a percentage of the fan base willing to hit their fellow fans because they support the board and are against protests, it's over

Good points well made.

But your off your trolley if you think that squad is better than the current one

Actually on reflection it's out of order to say the fans should be ashamed of themselves so I take that back.

Imagine supporting the likes of Bolton, Sunderland, Charlton etc over the same time period.

Re: Imagine buying a PL football club like ours...
That was a pretty decent rant but you fucked it up royally at the end there. I don't think a single player outside of central midfield would make our first 11 and only Green would make the bench.

The squad they inherited was absolute shit. Apparently they didn't realise this because not enough was done to improve it after Zola was sacked and so we were relegated. Didn't help that they hired the worst manager in our history either

I've just googled JORDI Spence and he's been out of contract since Ipswich released him last season.

Alex V will probably be surprised to see that.

Re: Imagine buying a PL football club like ours...
on paper its not a better squad, but Upson, Green and Parker would walk into the team at the moment. Maybe Behrami too.

Zola got a 10th place finish out of that pile of crap.

I remember years ago saying we should have built the team around Fabio Daprela.

We would have been unstoppable - but no, no one listened.

You reap what you sow, eh.

For breakfast, do I go for porridge or cereal? Or is that team better than ours?

They did save us. Problem is, after the saving was done, they should have moved on to save another club and handed over to somebody who could run the club.

Saving/building and running a club (or any business venture, really) require very different skill sets
